Nordic walking - March Taster Session

Service Description
£20 per person Location: Kington Grange, Kington Lane, Claverdon, Warwick CV35 8PW If you are looking for a way to increase activity and reduce stress without joining a gym, Nordic walking is a fantastic full body aerobic workout using specially designed poles. It can be modified to suit all abilities. Compared to ‘normal walking’, Nordic Walking can: • Burn around 20% more calories compared to walking without poles. • Release tension in your neck and shoulders. • Improve your posture and gait. • Strengthen your back and abdominal muscles. • Reduce the impact on your joints. During this session you will gain an overview of the 10 steps INWA (International Nordic Walking Association) method of Nordic walking. The session will include an introduction to how and where Nordic walking started plus why the poles are so different to trekking poles. We will begin learning the method on the lawn at Kington Grange and finish with a short walk in the surrounding area. Full tuition will be given throughout the session. Terms & conditions: Clothing: Please ensure that you wear appropriate footwear (walking shoes, trail shoes etc with a good grip on the sole) • Wear layers as you will get warm • Bring waterproofs • Bring a small rucksack to carry anything that you need with you. General: If a session has to be cancelled due to inclement weather conditions and you cannot attend the rearranged date a refund for that session will be given. If you choose to cancel or not attend within 14 days of the course, unfortunately no refund will be possible Health Steps by Julia Mitchell reserve the right to cancel and amend dates as necessary.
